Issue #44

Last Update March 2, 2006

Commentary   With this issue, we are converting from a monthly (actually 10 times per year) publishing schedule to a rolling schedule, in which articles will be added as they are written (mostly weekly). Articles will remain on the home page for six weeks, after which they will be archived, and will remain permanently available through the archive page. Each article will carry a publishing date; the issue date at the top of each page will become the date of last update of the magazine. Issue numbers will be changed monthly; we may drop them altogether eventually.

There are several reasons for making this change, foremost among them that the world moves pretty quickly, and events that we would have liked to comment on have, on several occasions, become stale by publication date. In addition, our coverage of leading-edge technology and finance developments will be improved by a publication date closer to the date of the conference or press event at which these developments were announced.

Those readers on our notification mailing list will be informed by email whenever new content is added. For our other readers, checking our web site weekly should do the trick. The content of the current issue (Issue #38) is entirely new, but marks the beginning of our rolling format, and contains articles originally scheduled for our March 31 issue as well as articles inspired by April events.

Another format change is the articles will no longer be grouped by topic area (International, National, Business and Finance, Technology, Arts and Reviews), but will appear in reverse chronological order (most recent first). Each article will, however, continue to show the category assigned to it as part of the headline.

We hope these changes will improve our coverage and make New York Stringer Magazine more interesting and accessible.
